AutoCAD has also been at times considered a competitor to SolidWorks in the drafting space. AutoCAD offers a Graphical User Interface (GUI). Its GUIs are similar to Microsoft Windows and macOS, with main GUI buttons and menus in the upper left corner of the screen and information windows and toolbars below.

Additionally, other programs, such as the DGN-to-DWG converter, which turns 3D CAD models into DWG format, use the DWG format for importing/exporting files. Also in 2011 Autodesk unveiled a new development platform, called Next Platform, which includes web and native (Windows/Mac/Linux) applications, enabling one file format to be accessed from a web page and by desktop applications. In 2014, Autodesk announced the addition of a number of popular 2D and 3D programs to Next Platform, including AutoCAD, Inventor, and SolidWorks.

In 2010, Autodesk released 3DS Max Studio with a cad-based workspace, which supports native workflows for CAD content. It is similar to the Layouts feature of AutoCAD and gives users the ability to design in both 2D and 3D space simultaneously, similar to what was in AutoCAD from 1999 to 2010.

As part of the Next Platform announcements in 2014, Autodesk also announced that AutoCAD will include a number of its own products, including Inventor, Maya, and Navisworks, which are being re-architected to be based on the same code and technology as AutoCAD. Maya was acquired by Autodesk in 2013.

In April 2017 Autodesk introduced Project Builder, a tool to edit and share software project plans in collaboration with business professionals and other industry peers. Project Builder will be a Web-based solution to manage project information and collaborate with industry peers in a single cloud environment.

Open the application.
Locate the Autocad application (in this example Autocad 2016 it's path is C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2016), enter the Autocad application and then click on the Register button to generate a license key for you.
Once the license key has been generated, use the key to activate the Autocad application.

You should now be able to start working in Autocad for free.

Is there any reason for a keyword to have multiple meanings?

I've noticed, but not for the first time, that a lot of keywords have two or three meanings.
For example, the keyword "class" has two meanings in PHP:

The keyword "class" in PHP is not overloaded, as "class" is the keyword which applies to all language features.
The keyword "class" refers to the data structure, not the programming language feature.

I could see an argument for one of these two, but not both.


As for C++, I think there is a third meaning. There, the keyword class refers to the fundamental building block of the language. So C++'s keyword class refers to an abstract entity such as an object, whereas Objective-C's keyword class refers to an object that is concrete.


In C++, the keyword 'class' means the object representation/traits
for a class. In many languages you might say that a keyword 'class'
means 'data structure', but in C++ that's not the case. The
reason for this ambiguity is historical. Historically, in
C++, keyword 'class' was used to mean both the object
representation of a class (as in C++) and also the data structure
for class types (as in Java or C#). This means that some
people thought they were correct when they wrote code like:

If you have a class with one field, then you can do this:
class A
int f;

A *a = new A;
a->f = 1;

but you can't do this:
class A
int f;

A *a = new A;
a->f = 1;

so 'f' is not

Having already played the game in the laboratory for 15+ hours, I can tell you this game is very demanding on your computer. I had to go into safe mode to maintain a solid frame rate. I am using an i5-4590S CPU, 8GB Ram, and a 256GB SSD.
